It's stuck

Things that people say often get stuck in my mind.

It's silly really. A single phrase or thought should not be carried for so long, as if the sentiment behind it is still being felt. I know that. I can reason with myself and see the logic of letting it go.

And yet... the though was so intense in the moment. The words carried such weight. My mind grabs hold and attempts to pull and interpret every possible meaning. I'm fairly obnoxious that way.

I won't ever tell you that I still think about it, but I still think about it.

Really? Duh.

So a recent study has shown that a lot of people eat chocolate when they are depressed.

Uhm... hello? Who the hell studies this crap? Doesn't the entire world already know that chocolate cures depression?

What it doesn't do is cure migraines. But it does soothe their effects.

Also, it doesn't clean up oil spills. Or stop the internal bleeding often associated with massive blunt force trauma.

But it does tame wild horses. And regrow hair (though you never can be sure where that hair will grow) and in some cases it has been known to liberate political prisoners and prevent nuclear fission.

A single point

Strange how the space between life and death is such a small and singular point on the line of our progression. A mere blip really.

When viewed from either side, it becomes almost trivial.

And yet, it is like so many seemingly trivial things. The turning of a key. Passing through a doorway. A yes, or a no. Everything that comes after it hinges upon that single point.

Gravity Eyelids (by Porcupine Tree)

Open your eyes now
Hear me out before I lose my mind
I've been waiting for hours
Let the salt flow, feel my coil unwind

Give me a smile please
Count the calm and watch my breathing slow
Winding me up tease
Get inside my head and make it show

Gravity eyelids come down

Touching your oil skin
Slipping hands down past your waist to find
I've been waiting for hours
Let the salt flow, feel my coil unwind
Go to the edge swim
Brown the eyes that sleep has rendered blind

1. Gravity eyelids come down
2. Come love so young with your gold arms so I wake her
3. Here's a will that will glow in the dark

Missing

Had to roll the site back. Stupid server errors.

So some stuff is missing. Report to my office immediately for a reading of said stuff.
